Training under Nolan is like training old school from back in the day.
Training under Nolan is like training old school from back in the day but with a modern twist that focuses on performance enhancement yet safety at the same time. He won't let you get seriously hurt nor will he let you get into the ring until you're truly ready. If you want a coach who pushes you to find yourself in boxing then Nolan’s the one.

Coach Nolan is a good guy, solid all around human being, willing to teach anyone-no experience all the way to very experienced.
Coach Nolan is a good guy, solid all around human being, willing to teach anyone-no experience all the way to very experienced. He is passionate about the sport but he respects that not everyone has the same goals. If you want to get a great workout he will help you but if you also want to compete he will help you. I highly recommend training with him. I started completely novice and am getting ready to train to fight. I love the sport, love training at Gleason's and am going to train here for as long as I possibly can.

Great coach!
Coach Nolan is a true professional that also works to the strengths and needs of all of his students. No matter the level of experience or ability, you will see vast improvement in conditioning and technique! On top of being knowledgeable and motivating, he is also a real people person. Great coach!

I cannot sing his praises enough
I've been a student of Nolan’s for just about a year now, more recently deepening my practice by joining his team. His approach is very thorough, technique-driven, and Bed-Stuy informed stylistically. every time we work together, i absorb so much and with such ease, as he makes clever analogies for learning and will take his time/move slowly as you find your rhythm. he really wants to witness your growth and will help give you that push. he’s incredibly observant and well attuned to the needs of all his students, from first-timers all the way to the amateurs he coaches in competitions. I cannot sing his praises enough — he’s so generous in and outside the ring and I'm very lucky to have him as my coach and friend. If you're thinking about getting started, this is the way!

You will not feel left behind.
Nothing but positive things to say about training with Coach Nolan. He pays extreme attention to detail and is highly knowledgeable and passionate about boxing. Strikes the balance between forcing one to push themselves and being attentive to the mental and emotional needs of his fighters. Has helped train several fighters to compete at the amateur level. You will not feel left behind.

Nolan really takes the time to understand you and your style to figure out how to make you better and stronger.
I’ve worked with a handful of coaches over the last few years, which gave me a good sense of how different people teach and approach training. While everyone has something unique to offer, Nolan really takes the time to understand you and your style to figure out how to make you better and stronger. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, spots even the smallest (but important) mistakes, and gives clear, actionable feedback on how to improve. On top of that, he’s just an incredible human being. Very passionate and genuinely caring.

Nolan is focused on instilling discipline, hardiness, ring intelligence, and a blend of many styles.
Coach Nolan is one of the best in Brooklyn. Nolan is focused on instilling discipline, hardiness, ring intelligence, and a blend of many styles...old school Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn and a little soviet sprinkled in too. All of this while holding you accountable and bringing you on at a speed that is healthy for you while pushing you to be better. Really one of the best not just at Gleason’s but also in NYC. Period.

My son (15 years old) has been training with Nolan for almost 3 years now, and my son absolutely loves it.
My son (15 years old) has been training with Nolan for almost 3 years now, and my son absolutely loves it. Nolan is respectful and good with kids; Nolan also offers youth classes on the weekends. Students do get one on one with Nolan, provides real boxing moves, from drills, exercising, and sparring with other classmates in a monitored environment. During the past 3 years now, I've noticed that Nolan cares about his students and works well with parents like me who need reassurance that your child is in good hands. Nolan is very knowledgeable about boxing history, and my son's confidence has built up within the past few years. Nolan trains all ages and genders and helps to create a supporting community for all.
